Lay's Smooth Cheddar

Lay

The price was right on this line from Lay’s: only 35 cents. Plus, I didn’t have to buy a whole big package to try them out. These Cracker Crisps come in a .812-ounce package, which includes about 25 of the little rectangles, which are sprinkled in a fine orange powder not unlike that pouch that comes with Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. If only they tasted as good as mac-n-cheese. I was disappointed in these baked crackers. They were crisp, but the flavor wasn’t that great and they left a funky aftertaste. I’m hoping for better in the Cracker Crisps line, because these are handy to buy for a lunch when you’re in the supermarket. Interestingly, the fact that they are 100 calories wasn’t even touted on the package I bought.

100 calorie Right Bites Cheez-It

100 calorie Right Bites CheezIt
Keebler’s line of 100 calorie packs goes by the moniker of Right Bites. I love Cheez-Its as much of the next person (Cheese Nips are too sweet; Cheez-Its are nice and salty). I also have a problem shared by much of Cheez-It loving society: Once the box is open, handful after handful comes out. If portion control is an issue for you, these packs will help you stop at one handful. Actually, less than a handful. There aren’t a ton of Cheez-Its in the bag (I meant to count them but was so busy eating I forgot). Still, they’re Cheez-It so you know they’re gonna be good.

Cheese Nips 100 calorie packs
Nabisco continues to dominate the 100 calorie snack market with its packs of Cheese Nips. These cheesy crackers have always been a thinner, crispier, perhaps slightly sweeter cousin of rival Cheez-Its. The 100-calorie packs don’t disappoint. These packs pack a lot of taste into a generous handful of crackers.

Trader Joe’s 100 calorie cheese toucan crackers
Sick of goldfish crackers? Want your animal-inspired snacking inspiration from the air, not the sea? Smart shoppers who know the difference are choosing these tasty toucans that wipe the cheesy smiles off the snack that smiles back. But seriously, folks. Trader Joe’s toucans, which also come in graham cracker flavor, are quite good. Dense and cheesy, a 100 calorie pack is more filling that you might expect. And, yes, the kids love them, too.

Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Crackers 100 Calorie Pouch
Goldfish crackers are always a big hit at our son’s preschool. But when there’s a field trip, they have to take their “nutrition” (aka snack) on the go. That’s where the 100 calorie packs made by Pepperidge Farm come in handy. They make five varieties of fish crackers in this pouch size, but we went with the original flavor. (The others are: Flavor Blasted Xtra Cheddar, Pretzel, Chocolate Graham and Cinnamon Graham.) The crackers were predictably tasty and the kids were happy. They did go fast, though, at only .75 ounces per pack.
