Klondike Slim-a-Bear

Klondike Slim-a-Bear

My husband brought this box of Klondike Slim-a-Bear 100-calorie ice cream bars home from the store the other day, and before I could taste-test them, he and our son had eaten half of eight bars in the box! So, that’s a ringing endorsement right there. The Slim-a-Bear bars (these are vanilla) are smaller than the palm of my hand but flavorful. The chocolate coating tastes like caramel and the ice cream is slow to melt, so you can take your time eating this Klondike bar. The size and low-fat ice cream help bring Slim-a-Bear in at 100 calories. My only question is, if it’s round, can they still call it a “bar”?

Mrs. Smith’s Heavenly 100 Chocolate Mousse

Mrs. Smith\'s chocolate mousse
OMG. Or, should I say, OMS, for “Oh Mrs. Smith’s.” There aren’t a lot of 100 calorie frozen desserts on the market. (Those cute little Ben & Jerry’s and Haagen Dazs single-serves have upward of 220 calories apiece.) But Mrs. Smith’s, the pie lady, delivers with this 4.5-ounce dessert that comes two to a frozen pack. No, it doesn’t taste like ice cream. More like those ice milk concoctions you can buy in paper cups at the ballpark or from the neighborhood ice cream truck. But, hey, for 100 calories we’ll take it.
